$27.00
The elegant worsted weight alpaca yarn comes in subtle blends of the undyed natural colors. The colors are blended and spun unevenly to give a textured, tweedy look to your knitting. A warm and luxurious yarn, it is put up in 8-ounce skeins of approximately 600 yards each. Hand-wash.

Yarns can be searched in a variety of ways. If you are only interested in a particular type of fiber for your yarn (such as silk), you can look it up that way,

If you are interested in finding a yarn for a specific projcect, you will want to look for it by gauge. We divide our yarns into fine, fingering, sport, DK weight, worsted weight, Aran weight, Chunky, bulky, and extra-bulky. We assign a gauge to those categories that correspond with industry usage of the terms. That way, you can check the gauge of a project, and go to the proper category of yarn for that gauge.

Care must be taken in some projects that deliberately knit a yarn for a different gauge than it is meant for. The most common form of this is in lace projects, where that needle size, and therefore the gauge, is generally much larger than one would normally use on the given yarn. In thees cases, it is best to go by the yardage per oz, if possible.

These are the obvious ways of dividing a yarn collection to make it easy for you to find things. If you have a good idea for another category to put the yarns in that might help people find what they need, please e-mail us at yarnshop@aol.com with the suggestion.
