JaggerSpun Heather is a line of fine clothing-quality wools in 3 sizes: 18/2, 8/2, and 8/3. This is a soft, strong 100% wool yarn, dyed as carded top, then mixed in the spinning process. For Knitting: The 3/8 size knits as a sportweight yarn, with a gauge of 24 st/4 in on #5 needles. The 2/8 size is a fingerweight yarn. The 2/20 size is excellent for laceweight yarn projects. All colors are heathered, except the natural white. These yarns have not been scoured, and will shrink, or full, about 15% upon their first washing. Therefore, for knitting, it is recommended that knitters pre-wash the yarn, or buy the scoured variant, which we have prewashed for you (see below). For Weaving: All of these sizes are made of high-quality, well-spun wool, resulting in yarns that were designed for use as both warp and weft. It works up extremely well for both, and fulls beautifully to a soft, fluffy, and durable hand. The 8/3 dents out as 12 epi. The 8/2 dents out at 14-16 epi. The 18/2 dents out at 20 epi. |
